José Miguel Pérez Pelaez


José Miguel Pérez Peláez joined Cuesta Campos in 2002. He has focused his practice in commercial, civil and banking & finance litigation, his other areas of expertise include trusts and transactions for national and foreign companies.

Mr. Pérez Peláez has more than 25 years of experience counseling and representing corporations and financial institutions in trusts, transactions and trials before federal and local courts.

During the last years, he has specialized in financial regulatory matters and been providing advice to banking institutions with respect to the structuring of credit transactions and financing for governmental entities.

Before joining Cuesta Campos, he worked at a prestigious law firm specializing in commercial and civil litigation and banking & finance advice. He also worked in the trust area of a prestigious financial institution.

  2. He has represented important foreign investors in several disputes since 2005.
  3. Currently represents an important American company in a lawsuit before a federal court for a dispute concerning a trust regarding a property in the coasts of Jalisco, Mexico, and brought to Court as a nullification claim.
  4. Member of the board of administration and legal counsel for a very important financial institution in Mexico.
  5. He participated in a project to change the nationality of a foreign entity.
  6. He participated in a restructuring transaction for a Trust concerning a multimillionaire touristic real estate project in Colima, Mexico.
